The Moray Gig intends to hold a 'Flag Day' on Saturday 21 April. By this I mean I arrange for the Gig to be rowed alongside the Pier in Findhorn where the Moray Coat of Arms Flag (and new Red Ensign & perhaps a RFYC burgee) are handed over to the crew then hoisted at the stem and 'rowed' around the Bay. The Council have bought the flag, we are representing the Lieutenancy of Moray, the local community council have helped with the bow shield painting and so there are many who could be there for a short ceremony. Perhaps coffee & biscuits in the RFYC veranda to make it more social or poor weather shelter!
The event will take no longer than an hour from 11.00am to midday. This is not a closed event and is open to all on the committees and those they represent.
